In the last couple of years, a lot of progress has been made in the Tennis Section with lot more members / dependents taking part.  Apart from playing friendly matches with other social / sporting clubs, they hosted various age group BTA tournaments.  The section is also on a sound financial footing partly because of the two successful camps that are held by the section.  All four floodlit courts have been used throughout the year and the section is humming with activity.  The Section hosted the fourth edition of the CCFC – Shricon Inter Club tournament and finished a very creditable runners up.  The section, ably led by Vivek Bhasin won the tournaments during the Dhaka Sports Carnival, Saturday Club Inter Club Carnival, Inter City Club Sports Carnival and friendly ties against Royal Bangkok Sports Club and Polo Club.  Credit goes to the section officials for running this section well.

Shricon CC&FC Open Tennis Tournament - 2012

 The CC&FC “A” team finished winners at this recently concluded tournament held at our club courts. We beat DKS 4-0 in the finals. Incidentally, it was a repeat of last year’s finals in which they got the better of us in the deciding rubber. We have now made the finals 5 times in a row and won in 2007 and 2012. This shows our consistency at this tournament and this is praiseworthy. Well done.

A special mention to the team as they played at a very good level and were totally committed. The player of the tournament was Ms. Shivika Barman who came out of a serious injury to represent the club – thank you!! 

This is an open tennis tournament and any member could play, regardless of ranking or being a tennis professional. We are in the 5th Edition of this tournament and this fixture is eagerly looked forward to by the tennis playing fraternity of the city. Big thanks to the sponsors SHRICON for their continued support of this tournament and we hope that this tournament grows from strength to strength in the years to come. This would never have been possible without the sponsors and I would like to thank Mr. Raghav Gupta personally, for always being there for CC&FC and Tennis.

 Our A and B teams took part and I was glad to see that the “B” team performed well. I am sure this will augur well for the Tennis Section in time to come, with players fighting to get into the teams on merit.

 A big thank you to our club ground staff, ball-boys, markers, umpires, referee and bearers for their dedication and untiring work ethic in ensuring that the tournament ran smoothly.

 Last but not the least a big thank you to the President, Vice-President, CEO, Sports Co-coordinator and members of the General Committee for their support toward this sporting fixture.
